Cloe the Princess

sunny 27 °C

Ahhhh!! My first night alone in i can't remember how long! I'm up at a place called Mango Hill, staying with - and tonight babysitting for - one of the boys from work. Trav, Kate, and Princess spoilt rotten pup Cloe. (She's the one who needs the babysitting)
Im about 35 clicks north of Brissie, and staying in a luxury brochure style house, in the most extensive housing development i've ever seen. No kidding! Its like a good 7 minute drive at 60kms down the main entrance road just to the turnoff for the estate! That doesnt sound so extensive now ive just put it into words.. but really! It's a big place! Lots of houses!! :) (I really realised the extent of the place when i was walking Cloe last night, and forgot which way i had come from. Was feeling pretty silly, and invisioned myself knocking on a neighbours door to ask for a street directory to get home. Found it eventually - no thanks to Cloe. Her sense of direction is as bad as mine! Haha!)
So i'm really just enjoying the night, without having anything or anyone to be responsible for. Its good to be aone sometimes. So good :) Cloe is asleep on the floor next to me, and Im secretly hoping she stays that way for the rest of the night! Crap! I didnt realise dogs were so much work! Give me a 5 year old anyday! (Just kidding Trav - she's lovely!! :)) Ive fed her, taken her for a mammoth run, and ive even spent half an hour mopping the floors after she came bouncing through the house elbow deep in mud! God knows where the mud come from - we're meant to be in drought and i dont know the last time it has rained in BrisVegas. ! Bloody Cloe! Im not too sure she enjoyed the leg hosing she had before i let her back in the house!! :)
Yeah, other than that. Been working. Slipping into the 9-5 work routine again, and it mst have only been 3 weeks! eek! Good thing im in a position to break that cycle soon! Ahh! I'm in a really good sapce about heading off. And while i should prob be thinking about getting a few things together, im confident that everything will fall into place and be just perfect :)
Spoke to Bevan last night, from a phone booth in London. Heard lots of sirens in the background and thought of 'The Bill', and Bobbys with tit hats. And then got to catch the last 10mins of the Simpsons here in Oz, while Bevan had to hang up to have a poo - then call me back right after, Anyone who knows Bevan can get a pretty funny picture in their head about that. Silly :)
Errm. Off to housesit another place in Highgate Hill this weekend, and next week. A 10 min walk into town. That's cool!
For now, i think thats gonna be it. I'm going to go and enjoy my me time. With noone else! Ahhhhhh!!! :)

Ahh.. The Irony

And a lazy Sunday afternoon in Manly

sunny 27 °C

You know the morning of the night before? Roll out of bed around midday. Jump in the car with a few mates, and head to the beach for some greasy food and a sleep in the sun. It's the perfect plan..

Until someone (well, admittedly -it was me) locks the door, and leaves the keys in the ignition. Our dreams of fatty delights from the nearby fish and chip shop go hurtling into space as I try to drag my brain from the hungover mush at my feet.

Oh, the irony of it all. (The oversized 'LOCKSMITH' decal on the sides of the ute doesn't help either :) )

Fast forward a few red faced hours.. :p
... Mother and Father Magga to the rescue!! With an excited Pasha, his head hanging out the window as the Magna trawls up the beach road towards us. Father Magga! Our hero - he comes with gifts in the form of pliers and wire! Four minutes later, we are good to go. Lucky. I almost dropped the keys as I pulled them from the ignition, and out the quarterpanel glass!

Fast forward another hour or so in convoy home..
Libby has gone to bed. Ben is snoring in the bed next to me. (Only a little baby sized snore Ben ;p ) Father Magga and Pasha are out walking the streets for their daily exercise stint. I'm ready to wrap up my Sunday with a cup of tea and a movie.
Too bad!! We all have gather our strength and push past that hangover & lack of sleep from the night just gone. Its Pippas birthday tomorrow, and we are all pointed toward the city to eat much food and celebrate with friends and family. Well, at least we get that lazy afternoon meal we were after. Even if it is a few hours overdue! :)

Pre-Ticket Blues

And the torment of full time work

sunny

April in Brisbane. Hot. Dry.
Remind me again why I'm still only talking about that ticket to Vancouver?
